Full Contact client Bryan Van Den Bogaert last night made his professional debut here in the UK.
Bryan, 23, played the full game for Crawley against Peterborough in the League Cup only hours after his international clearance was granted.
The debut completed a remarkable few weeks for the Belgian, as Full Contact’s Dan Chapman explained; “Bryan has really earned his opportunity to play in England and we are pleased for him that his career here is so quickly off the mark. Two or three weeks ago, through my colleague Jon Herrador, an opportunity presented itself for Bryan to play in a game for Crawley on trial. The problem was that Bryan was in Belgium, it was late in the evening, the game was the next day and there were no flights available! Bryan’s response was immediate: he got in his car, drove from Antwerp to Calais, got on an overnight ferry and then drove from Dover to Crawley. He arrived in time for an afternoon training session and then played that night against Reading and did well! With desire and attitude like that, of course allied to his ability, he should do just fine here in England.”
We wish Bryan and Crawley all the best for the remainder of the season.
