Full Contact client Che Adams last night made his professional debut, appearing for Sheffield United as a half-time substitute in their League Cup quarter final against Premier League Southampton.
And what a debut it was; little more than four weeks after transferring from non-league Ilkeston FC to the League One club, and after a number of unused substitute appearances in the Football League, Nigel Clough finally unleashed his 18 year old starlet in front of more than 21,000 fans at Bramall Lane in a vital Cup fixture. Che’s last first team appearance had also been a Cup fixture; he had played for Ilkeston away to St Neots in the FA Trophy on the 1st November in front of a crowd recorded at 330.
Entering the field of play at 0-0, Che’s direct style and energy contributed to an excellent second half performance from the Blades which saw them knock out Ronald Koeman’s side 1-0 and progress to the League Cup semi-finals.
All at Full Contact were very proud to see Che take this next step in his remarkable story to date; we look forward to the next installment.
