Full Contact client Gozie Ugwu has scored his first professional hat-trick, as Dunfermline beat Stirling Albion 4-0 in the Scottish First Division.
Gozie’s treble took his League tally to 7 goals in 8 starts, as the 21 year old begins to establish himself in Scottish football after the late summer move north of the border.
Gozie said “I am really happy to get three goals. I had a few chances to make it four but the keeper made some great saves. It was good to start because I have been waiting for my chance. Thankfully I got my chance and I just looked to take it. I had scored hat-tricks before in under 21s and under 20s; it was just in the league that I hadn’t. That was bearing on my mind and I spoke to the boys and coaches at half time, they said just to keep going and perhaps it would come. Thankfully it did.”
