Full Contact have today signed Northern Ireland international and Newcastle Jets player Jonny Steele.
Jonny, 28, has spent almost the entirety of his playing career in the United States, most recently starring for the New York Red Bulls alongside the likes of Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill.
Jonny’s performances for the Red Bulls led to his first senior international cap in November 2013 and he has 3 caps to date.
Dan Chapman, senior partner of Full Contact, said “Jonny is a player we have known of for a while and we are delighted he has chosen to work with us. Some of his performances over the last two years for New York Red Bulls were extremely impressive, and he was playing in very good company, and so it was no surprise that he finally gained full international recognition. We look forward to working with him.”
Lee Payne, head of the Full Contact Football Agency team, stated “The MLS is increasingly becoming recognised as a very credible and challenging league, and Jonny has been able to perform at the highest level there. Some of the players he has played with, and against, are top drawer and it is going to be interesting to see what the long term future holds for Jonny.”
Jonny, pictured here with former Red Bulls team-mate Thierry Henry, joined Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets in the summer of 2014.
