Full Contact have today signed young Hartlepool United goalkeeper Jonathan Barber as their latest client.
Jonathan, 18, is currently a scholar at Hartlepool United but has already appeared as a first team substitute on three occasions. He comes from good keeper stock; his father being Fred Barber who made nearly 400 Football League appearances and who post retirement has gone on to become a renowned keeper coach and talent spotter.
Jonathan, in working with his father’s goalkeeper training courses, is no stranger to a number of other Full Contact goalkeeper clients such as Reice Charles-Cook, Jay Lynch and Sascha Studer and has impressed at Hartlepool since leaving Bury earlier in 2014.
Lee Payne, head of Full Contact’s agency team, said “Jonathan is a young keeper we have been close to for a while now, and I’ve seen a fair bit of him. He has tremendous attributes and the fact he has got close to the first team in the Football League, whilst still a scholar, speaks volume. He has inherited from his father Fred a tremendous attitude and work-rate, and has a real chance. We are delighted to welcome him to the Full Contact stable.”
