Full Contact have today been appointed to represent the young Bermudan striker Rai Simons.
Rai, 18, has already represented his country three times at full international level, scoring three goals in the process. He signed for Ilkeston FC in the summer of 2013, as part of an innovative project that saw Ilkeston offering educational and football opportunities to a number of players from Bermuda. After making an early impression for Ilkeston’s Academy side, Rai has made the transition more recently to featuring for the first eleven.
Dan Chapman, senior partner of Full Contact, said “Rai is the first player of a few that we will be working with from Bermuda, an island that has produced in my view a disproportionate number of talented footballers given its population of only 65,000 or so. Players such as Shaun Goater and Kyle Lightbourne had very good careers in England, and more recently Nakhi Wells has broken through in a big way. They are all strikers like Rai, and we believe that he has a lot of potential. Ilkeston have done a great job in bringing him across to the UK and the experience he has been gaining has been invaluable to him. We are very proud to be given the task of assisting Rai in the years ahead as he looks to earn a career in the professional game.”
