Jernade Meade signs for SwanseaFull Contact client Jernade Meade has today signed for Premier League side Swansea City.

Following eight years in the Arsenal youth set up, which culminated in first team appearances under Arsene Wenger in both the Champions League and Carling Cup,  Jernade now begins a new chapter in his fledgling career with this exciting move to Wales.

Lee Payne, head of Full Contact’s Football Agency team, commented “We are very pleased to have concluded this deal with Swansea City.  Following the end of the season it was important that we took our time to assess what was the best option for Jernade.  There was obviously a lot of interest in him – particularly from abroad – as he is a player of undoubted talent and pedigree, who has played in the Champions League,  but Jernade is always going to thrive most at a club who plays an attractive and technical style of football.  Swansea play that style, and whether he is utilised in midfield or at left back I am sure he will fit very seamlessly in to their set up.

Jernade follows former Arsenal team-mates and fellow Full Contact clients Jordan Wynter and Reice Charles-Cook in commencing a career away from the Emirates, although Jernade reserved special praise for the staff at Arsenal who thought so highly of him, and schooled him since a tender age;  “I will forever be grateful for the footballing education I received at Arsenal and will of course never forget my first team debut, but it became apparent shortly after that debut that it was time to move on. I wish all the best to my former team-mates and coaches.”

Jernade, aged 20, also said “I am very excited to have joined Swansea City; from the moment I arrived here I felt at home. It has the feel of a family club, but is now also an established, top Premier League club and from the first team down to the youth levels they play an exciting style of football which I think will suit me.  I am thankful to my representatives at Full Contact and for Swansea City for giving me this opportunity.  It is going to be an extremely difficult challenge to break through from Academy football in to Michael Laudrup’s first team plans, but a challenge I am looking forward to.”

All at Full Contact wish Jernade all the very best in this exciting move to Swansea City.
