Full Contact client Richard Brindley has today signed for League 1 side Rotherham United.
The 20 year old right back has put pen to paper on a two year contract for the recently promoted Rotherham United, pictured here with Full Contact’s Lee Payne and Rotherham’s Gee Evans.
The move from League 2 side Chesterfield to Rotherham completes an incredible year for Richard. Released from Norwich City last summer, Richard began the season playing for Blue Square South’s Chelmsford. A series of stunning performances for them prompted a trial at Chesterfield, which then resulted in the offer of a contract until the end of the season. Richard would go on to make 12 appearances, and his impressive performances (and notably his passing ability and attacking prowess) were such that he quickly gained a number of admirers.
Lee Payne, head of Full Contact’s Football Agency Team said “We are particularly pleased with this deal ; Richard has been a great lad to work with from the outset, and through his Chelmsford and Chesterfield spells he has demonstrated enormous determination to succeed and made a number of personal sacrifices along the way. He really is an example to any player who is released by a Premier League club, and he fully deserves this opportunity to play in League 1. I have total belief that in time he can become an extremely successful, attacking full back.”
Richard Brindley said “I am grateful to both Chelmsford and Chesterfield for the opportunities they gave to me, but once I heard that Steve Evans and Rotherham United were interested in signing me things happened really quickly. This is an ambitious club that is going places and I can’t wait for pre-season to become a part of it.”
The Full Contact team all wish Richard and Rotherham United a successful 2013/2014 season.
