Full Contact client Luciano Bacheta finished as runner-up in only his second Auto GP race at this weekend’s season curtain raiser at Monza.
Luciano opened his account on Saturday with an eighth place finish, that had followed a difficult qualifying session on the Friday as the team and the drivers got their first experience of the car. In race two on the Sunday (pictured here), Luciano performed solidly in extremely hazardous wet conditions to bring home a podium finish.
Luciano said “I am delighted with the result, finishing on the podium in my first racing weekend in the series is great.”
Team-mate Narain Karthikeyan had a difficult first weekend battling with mechanical problems, but both drivers now turn their attention to the next race weekend in Morocco.
In attendance was Full Contact senior partner Dan Chapman who said “Given the lack of testing and the fact this was Luciano’s first time in the car, first time with Zele Racing and first time in Auto GP, it was a very successful weekend. The car, adorned with the Full Contact logo, looked superb too!”.
