Arsenal’s Reice Charles-Cook goes out on loan

Reice Charles-Cook Arsenal Football Club GoalkeeperFull Contact client Reice Charles-Cook has today joined Blue Square South side Chelmsford City on loan.

The young Arsenal goalkeeper already has a strong link with Chelmsford, given that his older brother and midfielder Anthony Cook has played for the Clarets since 2009.  Following an injury to first choice keeper Stuart Searle,  Chelmsford moved quickly to secure the services of Reice – a move which offers Reice an excellent opportunity to gain some first team experience to build upon his recent starring NextGen performances for Arsenal

A slightly unusual feature to this story is that following Searle’s injury at the weekend, which came early in Chelmsford’s game versus Hayes & Yeading,  the lack of a substitute goalkeeper meant that one Anthony Cook played the remaining 80 minutes of the game in goal!  Whilst Anthony by all reports performed admirably we are sure he will be relieved to see his younger brother take over the gloves.

Chelmsford City play local rivals Billericay Town this evening,  and it may therefore mean that Reice is catapulted straight in to the side.  We wish him all the very best during this loan spell,  and shall be keeping a close eye on his performances.    Click here for the official Arsenal website’s report on Reice’s move.
