Ross Durrant

Boston United

Ross began his goalkeeping career in earnest when, as a 13 year old, Mansfield Town signed him from schoolboy football.

Aged 15, he signed for Nottingham Forest and shortly thereafter signed his two year scholarship. Whilst a 17 year old scholar, Ross made his debut for Forest's Under 21 side playing against local rivals Derby County.

Ross turned professional in April 2014, and on 26th August 2014 he was an unused substitute for Forest's senior team in their League Cup fixture away to Huddersfield. Throughout the 14/15 season, Ross regularly shone in under 21 games.

On 18th September 2015, Ross signed on loan for Ilkeston and made his debut the following day away to Marine - his first senior game of football. After impressing in 10 consecutive games for Ilkeston during which the club only lost twice, Ross was re-called by Forest, demonstrating the benefits of a good non-league loan for a young keeper. On the 31st October 2015, Ross was a substitute in the Championship away to Sheffield Wednesday - his first ever exposure to the Football League.

In mid March, Ross was back out on loan - this time to Mickleover Sports, where he impressed again - notably in a 0-0 draw at former loan club Ilkeston. In the summer of 2016, after leaving Forest, Ross turned down opportunities to remain in the Football League to return to Ilkeston on a permanent basis - seeking more first-team experience as a young keeper as a vital part of his career development.

Stand-out performances for Ilkeston during the 2016/2017 season enhanced Ross' reputation as a fine young keeper and on 15th December 2016 he was transferred for an undisclosed fee to National League North club Boston United.
