Goalkeeper

08/05/1999

Australian / English

Liam played at the age of 13 for West Australian State Team and the West Australian State Schoolboys. In 2014 he represented Perth Glory (an Australian A League club) at a National Tournament at the Australian Institute of Sport (in Canberra).

Liam was selected to represent Perth Glory's Under 18's although, of English descent, Liam's goal was to forge a career in the United Kingdom. To that end, Liam spent time in 2014 and 2015 training with professional clubs in the United Kingdom as part of his plan to commence a scholarship here in the summer of 2015.

On the 1st July 2015, Liam signed a two year scholarship with Reading FC and impressed throughout his first year. The 2016/17 season was a key one for Liam as he regularly impressed with stand-out performances for Reading U18's but also progressed to making his U23 debut.

In the summer of 2017 Liam received the news his hard work had hoped to achieve; he received the offer of his first professional contract, which he duly accepted. The 2017/2018 season proved to be a vital one for Liam ; it began with a call up from Jaap Stam to join the first team on their pre-season tour, followed by a very successful loan playing for Staines Town giving Liam his first taste of senior football and then an invitation to train with an England goalkeeper camp. After returning from his loan to Reading, Liam was installed as the first choice U23 keeper at the club and promising performances led to a new contract, committing Liam to the Royals until the summer of 2020.
