Dutch keeper Kelle Roos had a whirlwind introduction to English football in the 2013/2014 season when, as he started working with Full Contact, he immediately signed for Conference Premier side Nuneaton Town. Things could not have started better - Kelle kept a clean sheet in his first six games.

It was not long before the professional scouts were flocking to Liberty Way, and after numerous clubs expressed firm interest in acquiring Kelle's services, he signed during the January 2014 transfer window for Championship club Derby County. The incredible opportunity for Kelle to work with esteemed goalkeeper coach Eric Steele, under the management of Steve McLaren with his Dutch connections, was too good to turn down and a transfer deal for an undisclosed fee was agreed between Nuneaton Town and Derby.

6ft 5 Kelle, who had come through the PSV Eindhoven academy, had played only nine league games for Nuneaton - remarkable evidence of how quickly talent can rise through the leagues.

For the remainder of the 2013/2014 season Kelle player Under 21 football for Derby County, before featuring regularly in goal for the first team during the 2014/2015 pre-season. On the 9th August 2014, Kelle was selected in the matchday squad for the first team, named as the substitute goalkeeper in the Championship opener against Rotherham, and he has retained that no.2 berth ever since.

On the 23rd September 2014, Kelle made his competitive debut for Derby County as he was named in goal for the third round League Cup fixture against Reading. Keeping a clean sheet and making a number of good saves, Kelle's first team career at the Rams began impressively. His second start would come a month or so later, as Derby beat Fulham 5-2 away to book their place in the League Cup quarter-finals. Kelle's next first team start was on 3rd January 2015 in the FA Cup 3rd round, at home to Southport, and a 1-0 win there would lead to another solid performance in the FA Cup 4th round win against local rivals Chesterfield (2-0) on 24th January. This meant that 3 of Kelle's first 4 first team appearances had resulted in clean sheets.

In July 2015 Kelle signed an improved, long-term contract at Derby County which runs until the summer of 2018. On the 15th July 2015, he joined Championship club Rotherham United on loan. After impressing in pre-season games, Kelle made his competitive debut for Rotherham and also his Football League debut on the 8th August 2015 against MK Dons.

Kelle's first clean-sheet for the Millers came on the 11th August in a 1-0 League Cup win against Cambridge, with Kelle making a superb late save to see his side through. His first Football League clean-sheet arrived on the 18th August in his third League start, at home to Preston. Derby re-called an injured Kelle on transfer deadline day, after he had made 5 appearances in all.

Following recuperation from injury, Kelle impressed as he returned to action on the 31st October 2015 for Derby County's Under 21's, away to Stoke. On the 1st February 2016, Kelle was out on loan again, this time to League Two club AFC Wimbledon and he made his debut on the 13th February - impressing in a home win against Luton. Kelle tasted victory in his second fixture too, again impressing as Barnet were beaten 2-1 and in his third appearance - also a win - Kelle kept his first clean-sheet for the Dons against Carlisle and after further impressive performances he kept another clean-sheet on 5th March in his 6th appearance. In April, good performances from Kelle assisted his club to earn 5 wins and a draw including 4 clean-sheets which saw Wimbledon leap in to the final play-off place.

Kelle's performances during the play-off semi-finals caught the eye, as Wimbledon beat favourites Accrington over two legs. On 30th May 2016, in front of a 58,000 crowd, Kelle kept an impressive clean-sheet as his side - underdogs again - beat Plymouth Argyle 2-0 to secure promotion to League One.
