Kai McKenzie-Lyle

Kai McKenzie-Lyle is a tall, athletic goalkeeper who progressed through the Barnet Academy before turning professional with the Bees in 2016.

In October 2014, whilst still only 16, Kai had his first taste of senior action - he was named as the sub keeper away to Gateshead in the National League. In the 2015/2016 season, with Barnet now in the Football League, Kai would go further - he made his professional and Football League debut (on the 12th September 2015) when he entered the field of play as a substitute, away to Portsmouth. He also appeared that season on the bench in the Football League on 30 occasions and 3 times in cup competitions.

Kai also had a short loan out at Cockfosters during the 15/16 season gaining valuable experience of senior football.
After a strong pre-season in the summer of 2016, Kai was called up by the senior Guyana national side and impressed in training so much that he was given the starting berth for Guyana's fixture against Surinam on the 8th October 2016. It was an international debut of some remarkable note: with the home favourites Surinam 3-1 with little time to play, Kai went up for a corner and scored a headed goal!
