Dayle, a bustling centre-forward, was a product of Grimsby's youth system and in the 2010/11 season - aged just 17 - he made his senior debut in the Conference Premier. Dayle remained as a young professional player for the Mariners for three years, but whilst a regular substitute throughout he was only given 10 starting appearances (5 in the League and 5 in FA Cup and Trophy fixtures) - this despite an excellent return of 8 goals. During this period he also had a short loan in the Conference North at Harrogate Town, scoring 1 in 3 appearances.

In the summer of 2014, Dayle signed for nearby Conference North club Boston United in search of regular football. That would prove to be a wise decision, as Dayle started 39 league games and scored 28 goals. In total, from his 42 starts in all competitions, Dayle netted on 30 occasions.

The 2015/2016 season continued in similar fashion ; the ever present Dayle had by Christmas scored 15 goals in the re-named National League North in Boston's first 23 games of the season. After a foot injury kept Dayle out for ten weeks, he returned on 24th February and scored his 16th League goal of the season and a superb 35 yard free-kick away to Fylde on the 5th March brought about his 17th. Three more goals followed in his next four starts, taking his total as at early April to 20 (and meaning he had scored 50 goals for Boston in 77 starts). On the 9th April Dayle scored again, moving to 21 for the season, and on the final fixture of the regular season Dayle scored a superb hat-trick (away to Stalybridge Celtic) which saw him receive the National League North Golden Boot (24 goals) and Boston reach the play-offs.

Dayle was awarded Boston's Player of the Season 2015/16, for the second year running and in May, Dayle earned an England C call up for the forthcoming ICC fixture against Slovakia. After impressing on his international debut, it would prove to be his one and only England C appearance - as on 21st June Dayle turned professional, signing a two year contract at Wycombe Wanderers.

On the 6th August 2016, after a good pre-season, Dayle made his Football League debut, away to Crawley. Whilst early performances in the EFL were impressive, Dayle had to wait until 17th September 2016 for that first goal to come - the winner at home to Stevenage. Sadly, Dayle then succumbed to injury and did not return to fitness until early February 2017 at which he pointed he joined National League leaders Lincoln City on a month's loan.
