Mirandinha is a former Brazilian professional footballer who was capped four times by the full Brazilian side, he scored against England in 1987. Well known in these shores for his successful spell with Newcastle United between 1987 and 1989, Mirandinha was the first Brazilian to play in England.  He made his debut at Carrow Road against Norwich City and went on to score 24 goals in his 54 appearances, a period of his career which was preceded and followed by spells at leading Brazilian club side Palmeiras.
