Francisco Ernani Lima da Silva, better known as Mirandinha, was appointed by Full Contact as a Football Consultant in October 2012.
Mirandinha is a former Brazilian professional footballer who was capped four times by the full Brazilian side, he scored against England in 1987. Well known in these shores for his successful spell with Newcastle United between 1987 and 1989, Mirandinha was the first Brazilian to play in England. He made his debut at Carrow Road against Norwich City and went on to score 24 goals in his 54 appearances, a period of his career which was preceded and followed by spells at leading Brazilian club side Palmeiras.
After finally retiring from football in 1995 Mirandinha entered the coaching profession before managing a number of Brazilian and Asian/Middle East clubs. Mirandinha then worked in a key ambassadorial role in the state of Ceara for the Brazilian FA in the build up to their hosting of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
As a keen and knowledgeable talent spotter held in very high regard in Brazil, Mirandinha was appointed to work with Full Contact to assist in the identification of the best young South American players with the potential to ply their trade in the UK and Europe and works closely with our head of Football Agency Lee Payne, who himself lived in Brazil for a number of years.
