Full Contact client Amadou Bakayoko has today completed a transfer from Walsall to Mark Robins’ Coventry City.
Signing for an undisclosed transfer fee and subject to ratification, Amadou has put pen to paper on a deal to run until 2020 with an option of a further year.
Amadou, 22, has made 93 Football League appearances and scored 18 goals in all competitions for Walsall – a club he joined as a scholar after a youth career in the Netherlands. Known for his physique, height and power – not to mention his left-foot – Amadou has long since caught the eye of numerous clubs for his undoubted potential. Entering in to the final year of his Walsall contract, the Sky Blues fought off competition from various clubs to secure Amadou’s signature in the final week of the transfer window.
Full Contact’s senior partner Dan Chapman – who travelled with Amadou to complete the Coventry City transfer, said “Amadou was very keen to join Coventry once it became clear that they had been able to agree terms with Walsall. It is a club he knows well and has often watched, and he relishes the prospect of working with a manager who himself was a top-class striker. There is no doubt that Amadou has attributes which are rare to come across at the moment and, if he can develop and improve on his all-round game, he will be a real handful not just in League One but higher divisions. This is a real opportunity now for Amadou to show what he can do at a club where he is really valued.”
All at Full Contact wish Amadou and Coventry City well for the coming season. Highlights of Amadou’s career to date are below.
