Full Contact client Simon Power has today completed his move from Irish club UCD to Norwich City.
19 year old Simon is the latest client of Full Contact’s Irish operation to make the move to the UK, this time joining at Full Contact’s head office hometown club Norwich City.
Blessed with natural pace and exciting raw talent, the Irish under 19 international has signed an initial 18 month contract.
Full Contact’s senior partner Dan Chapman commented “Simon is a delightful young man who just has a hunger for hard work, football and little else. He has balanced education with his football in Ireland for some time and this summer was the target for him to make the move across to professional football. Norwich showed some keen interest in getting him over for a trial before Christmas, as did other clubs, but this was the club Simon wanted to come to and thankfully for all parties the trial was a success. On a personal note, after running Full Contact for some years, this is actually the first time we have had one of our clients signed by Norwich City – the city of our head office – so it is a moment of huge pride and joy for us.”
Patrick Conliffe, who heads Full Contact’s Irish operation, added “Simon is a great example for young Irish players of how remaining focused, patient and waiting for the right opportunity to come along will reap its rewards. He also knows that signing for Norwich City does not mean he has made it and the hard work starts here – firstly to try and establish himself as a key player in the club’s development squad. But he has a real tenacity about him and an awful lot of raw talent, so we are excited about the future with Simon.”
All at Full Contact wish Simon and Norwich City all the best following this signing. Some highlight footage of Simon’s fledgling career to date is below.
