Full Contact client Souleymane Coulibaly has signed for Scottish Premier League club Kilmarnock.

Putting pen to paper on a 3 year contract, 21 year old Souleymane will now look forward to boosting manager Lee Clark’s attacking options. After scoring 7 League goals last season from just 15 starts (6 for Peterborough and 1 out on loan at Newport), Kilmarnock moved quickly at the end of last season to secure Souleymane’s services – although the deal has only been finalised and announced today.

Full Contact’s Head of Football Lee Payne, who accompanied Souleymane when he travelled to Kilmarnock to complete the move, commented “When Souleymane returned to England with us last summer, it was hard to know how quickly he would adapt to English football at first team level. The reality is that he did very well but just wasn’t given that many opportunities by then then Peterborough manager.  He started only 13 League One games for Posh but scored 6 goals – that is not a bad return at all – but it became clear as the season progressed that he was not going to start games regularly, and that is what Souley really needs.  When Kilmarnock demonstrated how keen they were to sign Souley – by putting such a long-term deal on the table – it was clearly the right move for him. This gives him security and a place to settle down, which he really wants, and I think we will now see the best of him. He has an awful lot of talent and we are hoping he is going to be a big hit in the Scottish Premier League.”

Prior to signing for Peterborough last summer, Souleymane had been playing in Italy – that had followed a youth career at Tottenham Hotspur and a glittering performance in the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup where he won the Golden Boot playing for his native Ivory Coast.

All at Full Contact wish Souleymane and Kilmarnock a successful 2016/17 season.  His highlights from last season – his first as a senior footballer in the UK – are below.
