Full Contact client and British GT Championship newcomer Seb Morris says he is absolutely relishing his maiden season in the prestigious category off the back of a very fruitful first ‘official’ test outing at a cold Snetterton in Norfolk on Tuesday, 15th March, at the wheel of Team Parker Racing’s Bentley Continental GT3.

Fresh from the unveiling of the car’s eye-catching livery at private member’s club Morton’s in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, on Saturday night during an exclusive event, the multiple motor racing champion joined team-mate Rick Parfitt Jnr at Snetterton yesterday for the pre-season Media Day. Although Seb actually got his debut experience of the Bentley at Portimao in Portugal a couple of weeks ago, this week’s officially timed run was the MSA Team UK driver’s first on track with the bulk of the British GT grid which, this year, is set to feature no fewer than 32 exquisite cars.

Ending the day seventh fastest overall on combined times, the No.31 Bentley ran faultlessly all day and the Pro-Am pairing racked up some important mileage with Parfitt Jnr taking the lion’s share of track time having been unable to attend the Portimao test.

I don’t think we’ll know for sure what’s going to happen this year until I’ve done my first race weekend to be honest, but we’re feeling confident”, commented Seb, “I’d obviously love for us to try and go out there and win it, that would be a dream come true, but we know there is a huge amount of competition in this championship and some amazing drivers and teamsMedia Day was all about Rick really, getting him up to speed and working together to get the car as well balanced as we could. The car has been great, the team is doing a fantastic job, and although it was very cold we were able to get some good data.

Bitterly cold Snetterton, in rural East Anglia, was a far cry from the livery launch event on Saturday where the awesome Bentley was a focal point in Berkeley Square as the covers came off to reveal a striking red, white, blue and black colour scheme.

The launch went very well, it was a great event and really good for us to do something different”, said the two-time McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner, “It was fantastic being able to have the car at Morton’s, the home of the original Bentley Boys, and incredible to see it on the road outside in Berkeley Square. We got some fantastic attention and coverage – a great way to start the year.”

Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit in Kent will host the opening race meeting of the British GT season over the weekend 16th/17th April.
