Full Contact client Reice Charles-Cook has made his full League 1 debut for Coventry City.
Talented keeper Reice, 21, had previously started one game in League 2, a League Cup fixture, 17 Conference Premier games and 3 in the Conference South – but on the 3rd October 2015 his biggest challenge to date arrived, keeping goal for the Sky Blues in a vital League 1 fixture at home to Shrewsbury.
Coventry won the game 3-0 and Reice was delighted to secure a clean-sheet on his League debut for Tony Mowbray’s side; “I can’t put into words how I felt at the weekend because it couldn’t have gone any better to be honest. The back four was outstanding and didn’t give me much to do, blocking everything and I think it was probably the best performance we’ve had all year. I literally couldn’t stop smiling. I’ll cherish my League One debut forever, especially doing it at a club like this. It’s what dreams are made of from when I was a kid playing for my Sunday team and watching telly and thinking that I’d love to be a professional footballer one day. So to actually achieve that and play my first game in League One is an amazing feeling and I can’t thank everyone here enough. It still feels like a bit of a dream that I have done it and I see it as a bit of a marker now in my career and want to play more and more games for this club and establish myself, and establish my name at Coventry.”
