Whilst Reice, 21, made his competitive debut tonight in goal for Coventry City (away to Rochdale in the League Cup) younger brother Regan, 18, also made his competitive and professional debut for Charlton Athletic in their Cup fixture against Dagenham. Reice has previously played in the first team for his former club Bury, but with both brothers making their debuts for their current clubs on the same evening it was quite an occasion for the Charles-Cook family!
Congratulations to Reice and Regan – the football historians will be scrambling to ascertain if this is a first. Regan impressed at right-back as Charlton strolled to a 4-1 win against Dagenham. For Reice, a number of good saves kept Coventry in the game at 1-1, although the Sky Blues would ultimately lose out to Rochdale on a penalty shoot-out.
