Full Contact client Magnus Okuonghae has today signed for Luton Town.
Putting pen to paper on a two year contract, the former Colchester United stalwart has turned down a number of opportunities across the Football League and chosen to join the ambitious League Two challengers managed by John Still – who Magnus played under whilst at Dagenham & Redbridge.
Magnus, who made 196 League One appearances for Colchester United after joining them in 2009 and 215 appearances in all (scoring 8 goals), is one of a number of high profile signings made by the Hatters this summer as they look to improve on their 8th position in League Two last season and mount a genuine promotion challenge.
Lee Payne, Head of Football at Full Contact, said “This is a good move for Magnus. At age 29 he still has many great years ahead of him, and he has bags of Football League experience that is going to stand Luton in good stead as they look to get themselves promoted. Being from Luton myself and an ex-player there, I know how big and professional this club is and once we became aware of their interest in Magnus, it was an easy decision to make. Magnus has spent most of his recent career in League One but the step to League Two does not phase him; he and we are pretty confident that he will be back in League One with Luton Town before too long.”
All at Full Contact wish Magnus and Luton Town the very best for the 2015/2016 season.
