Full Contact client Adi Yussuf has today completed his dream move back to the Football League.
Adi, 23, made 25 appearances in the Football League (but was only given a starting opportunity on 3 occasions) between 2011 and 2013 for Burton Albion, before spells with a number of non-league clubs were blighted by injuries.
Introduced to Full Contact in the summer of 2014 by intermediary Jon Herrador, Adi was taken to Oxford City where under the excellent management of Justin Merritt and the facilities of the Conference North club Adi was able to prove what he and we had believed – that he could be a prolific goalscorer. Scoring 31 goals and assisting many more, Adi was one of the country’s leading scorers in the 2014/2015 season.
Mansfield Town beat off the interest of a number of other clubs to secure Adi’s signature, and we now look forward to seeing his progress in League Two.
Dan Chapman, senior partner of Full Contact, commented “It is a great pleasure to see yet another Full Contact client progress from non-league through to the professional ranks, and of course in this case Adi has been there before and was so hungry to earn the opportunity to return. In addition to deserving this chance as a result of the number of goals he scored last season, Adi has two people to be grateful to and I know that he is : Jon Herrador for believing in him so much and working so hard throughout the season to ensure his exploits did not go unnoticed, and Justin Merritt his manager at Oxford City. Justin has not only given Adi the platform to return to the League, but the club have been very accommodating and pro-active in facilitating Adi’s move for which we are all very grateful.”
Adi will join fellow Full Contact client Reggie Lambe at the One Call Stadium, and we wish them all the best for the 2015/2016 season.
