Full Contact client Gboly Ariyibi has achieved another notable landmark in his fledgling career – scoring his first professional (and League) goal.
Gboly scored for Chesterfield against Coventry on Saturday 14th March, reducing the arrears for his side from 3-1 to 3-2. He also came extremely close to providing an assist for the equalizer in another sparkling performance for the Spireites. Coming hot on the heels of signing a new contract with the League One club, his first professional goal completes an exciting few weeks for the 20 year old winger.
Gboly’s goal came in the 85th minute at the Proact Stadium and made sure of a tense finish to the contest. He was slipped in by Gary Roberts and able to smash the ball into the bottom corner from ten yards with all the aplomb of a seasoned striker – to give the Spireites hope of a dramatic late comeback.
We look forward to Gboly’s progress continuing as he seeks to establish himself as a regular player in the Chesterfield side.
