18 year old Joe left Peterborough United in the summer, and is the latest Full Contact client to excel in non-league football as a means of returning to the full-time game. Joe played a number of games for Histon, although it was just one competitive appearance for Ilkeston FC that then led to an opportunity to trial with League One club Fleetwood. After impressing Graham Alexander in training and in two development fixtures, Joe has today agreed terms with Fleetwood Town – and in doing so, joins fellow Full Contact client Harvey Hodd who himself only signed for the Cod Army a week or so ago.
Lee Payne, head of the Full Contact Football Agency team, commented “This is a particularly satisfying deal for all of the Full Contact team. Joe is a talent that we have believed in so much, who we started representing when to us he was one of the stand out scholars at Peteborough United – and it was a complete shock when he was not offered a professional contract by them. He has then had to work really hard to get himself back in, and took our advice to go and play men’s football and prove to people that he is big enough, that he is strong enough. He has proven that in spades – he has great defensive ability, good technique and is as strong as they come. We are delighted that Fleetwood have seen what we have seen, and now Joe has a real chance to get his head down and kick on.”
We wish Joe and Fleetwood Town all the best for the remainder of the season.
