Full Contact client Seb Morris has today been confirmed as one of the six contenders for the prestigious 2014 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.
Seb, who also made the 2013 finals, has been named alongside Alexander Albon, Ben Barnicoat, George Russell, Sennan Fielding and Harrison Scott.
The six drivers will be assessed in Formula 2, DTM Mercedes and McLaren GT3 cars at Silverstone, later this month. The drivers also undertake physical tests and are interviewed by the Awards panel, which is this year made up of BRDC president Derek Warwick, British Touring Car’s Jason Plato, team boss Andrew Kirkaldy, McLaren’s Mark Williams, Motorsport News’ Kevin Turner and leading commentator Ian Titchmarsh.
The winner of the 2014 Award will be announced in December at the Autosport Awards dinner in London, with a prize of £100,000 and a F1 test drive with McLaren up for grabs. Previous winners of the Award include Paul Di Resta and Jenson Button, and last year’s winner was Matt Parry.
Dan Chapman, senior partner of Full Contact, said “We are proud that Seb has made the McLaren Autosport BRDC Awards top six for the second year running. It is some achievement to make the chosen six even once, when there are so many credible challengers. Seb’s work for preparing for the forthcoming tests is already underway and we know he will make a good account of himself.”
