Full Contact client Alefe Santos has made his first team debut for Derby County.
Alefe, who joined Derby from Bristol Rovers in the summer, has begun the season impressively at Under 21 level scoring in both of the first two League fixtures. That form, coupled with a good pre-season, was enough to earn a call up to the matchday squad for last night’s second round League Cup fixture against Charlton Athletic.
In front of a large crowd at the iPro Stadium Alefe was introduced as a 70th minute substitute with the game delicately poised at 0-0 and he made a good first impression, causing the Charlton defence some problems and nearly creating a goal for striker Chris Martin. Derby would go on to snatch a late 1-0 winner.
Alefe’s cameo debut performance clearly caught the eye, as was reported post match by manager Steve McLaren.
Full Contact client Kelle Roos was also an unused substitute for Derby County.
