Full Contact client Ollie Banks has today signed a new contract for Chesterfield, extending his stay with Paul Cook’s side to the summer of 2016.
Ollie joined then League Two club Chesterfield in September 2013 from non-league football, but soon established himself as a first team regular. 33 appearances in total and 9 goals (including 25 league appearances and 7 league goals) would have bettered still but for his season ending prematurely on the 30th March 2014 as injury struck in the Football League Trophy final at Wembley.
Chesterfield have moved quickly to sign Ollie to a new contract, and Full Contact’s Head of Football Agency Lee Payne commented “Ollie is just such a fabulous example to so many young footballers who have suffered rejection in the early stages of his career. He had to work so hard to get back in to the pro game, and whilst he certainly deserved the first contract Chesterfield gave him, he has really earned this one. Some of his performances last season were superb. I have every confidence that Ollie will be a key player next season in League One, and I am pleased Chesterfield have seen fit to reward Ollie with this deal.”
All at Full Contact wish Ollie and Chesterfield all the best for the forthcoming 2014/2015 League One season.
