Full Contact client Gboly Ariyibi has today signed a professional contract with Championship side Leeds United.
Gboly, 19 in January, left Southampton in the summer after an Academy career with the Saints which started in 2005. He players as a winger, and being two-footed he is as naturally at ease on either flank. Whilst pace and flair are his key attributes, he stands at 6ft tall and is a good athlete too.
Lee Payne, head of Full Contact’s Football Agency team, commented shortly after the deal was concluded, “We started work with Gboly only a week or two ago, after he was recommended to us by one of our clients. We were very surprised that a club had not picked Gboly up after his release by Southampton, as he is winger with exceptional pace and talent and with the right development, can in my view go a very long way in the professional game. After a short and successful trial, we are pleased that Leeds United share the faith we have in the boy and he has now a fantastic opportunity and platform at a very large club.”
We wish Gboly all the very best as he now begins his professional career.
