Demetriou, 23, has bags of experience in the Football Conference having joined the Harriers in 2011 from Eastbourne Borough. Making over 30 appearances in his debut season, Mickey followed that up last season as a virtual ever present. 44 league appearances, 2 cup appearances and 2 goals played a key role in an excellent season for Kidderminster which narrowly saw them miss out on promotion to the Football League.
Demetriou’s fine form for Kidderminster has not gone unnoticed; now part of Paul Fairclough’s England C team, Mickey featured in June in a 6-1 away win in Bermuda. Mickey is also an alumni of the famed Glenn Hoddle Academy in Jerez, Spain and has previously starred for southern non-league sides Worthing and Bognor Regis before his spell at Eastbourne Borough caught the eye of the Harriers management.
In joining Full Contact, head of the Football Agency team Lee Payne said of Mickey “He has an impressive amount of first team football experience for a player of his age, and is a player who we believe can comfortably play at a higher level – and hopefully that will be with Kidderminster who were so unfortunate to miss out on promotion last season. Jon Herrador, in particular, had seen a lot of Mickey play and brought him to our attention and we are very happy to have him on board.”
