Full Contact attended their first of many trial assessment games last night, at the North Herts Arena in Baldock in search of new football talents.
Following the recent launch of the Full Contact football agency and player representation team, we are putting in place and attending regular games where we can assess players who are unattached (from clubs and agents) and are seeking help in order to find their way in to (or back in to) the professional game.
The first such game took place last night, with Hitchin Town FC kindly fielding a XI in opposition to the numerous trialists that attended. Full Contact were represented by Head of Football Agency Lee Payne, Senior Partner Dan Chapman and Senior Football Consultant Mark Reid.
The excellent game ended in a 4-3 win for Hitchin Town FC, although that result slightly masks the fact that Hitchin’s two late goals were scored by a trialist who had switched sides!
Full Contact’s Lee Payne, commented “The purpose of these games is principally to see whether we can identify any players who have the raw talent, in our opinion, to make it to a very high level in the professional game. If we identify that type of player, then we will make them an offer to work with them. The reality is that we can only work with those very few exceptional players, and it is rare to find such players unattached. But it does happen, and from this game at The Arena I was delighted that we have identified two or three that we will be following up with.”
Thanks must go to Mark Burke of the Arena (and manager of Hitchin Town FC) for his hosting of the evening, to all those players that attended and crucially those coaches who brought players along and assisted. We will advertise future assessment days on the website, although any players or coaches can contact us now to register a prospective interest.« Football Consultants’ bolster the growing agency team Premiership Football – The Forgotten Sport »
